Glamour magazine is celebrating today 10 years of prosperity in Romania, as has stated the editor-in-chief Diana Tofan. Each Glamour ambassador, 10 of the most famous Romanian bloggers, participated in the catwalk with 10 aspiring fashionistas.

Ioana Grama, one of the ambassadors, with over 132,000 followers on Instagram coached Ilinca Munteanu, one of the contestants. “I can describe my overall experience in one word: insane!” said Ilinca.

“Since I found out that I was in the competition to when I arrived home in the middle of the night thinking about what had happened. When I arrived at the location, the makeup artists were doing their jobs, the hairstylist started doing my hair, we rehearsed what we should have done on the stage. We were anxiously waiting for the guests to come and get the show started. I felt the music, the atmosphere, the emotions and I focused all of them on the stage.

“It was my time to show my style and I think I did a good job. Even if I wasn’t in the top 10, I would like to say that I won something more important than any prize: an unforgettable moment. A priceless one. It isn’t everything in life to always win something material in a competition. It isn’t all about being the first one. You have to respect others. Everybody has their chances and the real prize isn’t palpable. Go on in a competition just to gain experience, to meet new people and to socialize. This is the real recipe for success. Ioana supported us, taught us a lot of things, tips and tricks, and made us to want to return to the competition next year! I had the best team due to the girls and our leader. So, yes, I’d like to say that I’m one of the winners.”

The main trends for autumn and winter 2016-2017 are ‘Biker babe’, ‘Street style’, ‘Vinyl mania’ and ‘Velvet touch’. The trends were included in an online guide on Glamour’s web page as inspiration for the show.

“The first time when they published on the site the fashion trends, I inevitably stopped at ‘biker babe’. I’m that kind of girl that has two sides: one is cute, girly, untouchable, but the second one is bad, unstoppable, who can run the world. I always remember what CL, a Korean singer, says in a song: ‘Not bad meaning bad, but bad meaning good, you know?’. Also, it depends on my mood. However, when I entered the contest I felt invincible!” Ilinca continued.

Already at the second edition, the fashion show gathered an incredible amount of bloggers who desire to make themselves noticed through outstanding outfits. The number of participants has risen considerably since the last fashion show.

Andreea Pene, a 19-year-old fashion enthusiast said: “I have no words to describe how happy I am to have participated in this contest. It was a great experience, I got the chance to meet a lot of interesting people and I have also managed to get outside my comfort zone.

“What I learned from this experience is that style is not what you wear but it is the feeling

that clothes give you and it’s what you became when wearing them. The most important thing is to wear something that releases your inner beauty and that represents who you really are.

“At the beginning, the reason why I wanted to participate was due to my blog, because I knew it was a good opportunity to promote it, but then the main reasons became the experience, the atmosphere and the people there.”
