Check mate

In January, Vogue UK published an article about 10 Trends for Spring 2018 and guess what you can still find listed in-between the lines? Tartan, plaid & check! I feel like these patterns will never go out of style.

I was browsing in H&M through the endless clothes on shiny hangers for a smart look for a presentation I was meant to hold with my team in Central London the next day. I randomly came across this “double-breasted jacket”, tried it on and it was one size too big. I thought…if it’s meant to be it will be.

Continuing my search, I bumped into one single article of clothing, totally misplaced on some jeans rack and it was the same jacket, it also happened to be my size. And at that moment…I knew that we belong together.

Fast forward to now, the presentation went really well, in my humble opinion, and I took my jacket out on a date again! This time we went to the National Gallery.

Yes, it was romantic and everything you imagine. It hugged me perfectly when the sun was hiding behind clouds and we spent hours gazing at paintings by Monet and Van Gogh.

I paired it with a black turtle-neck, black jeans tucked into my almost knee-high boots and as for accessories, I chose a small backpack and big sunglasses. With all of that said, I resembled more an equestrian than someone going to the museum.

I hope you have enjoyed this outfit post and that these sunny pictures will take away your Monday blues.
