May is one of the most beautiful months of the year. May is the month of peonies and summer expectations. May is the month where you can almost feel the smell of the salted sea and sun cream.
It is the month where you give up your high-coverage foundation and switch to a light BB cream. I have been using the Rimmel London SPF 15 Beauty Balm in “light”. This BB cream is long-lasting, hydrating and evens out your skin tone. But apart from all of these, it is light on the skin which makes it perfect for the summertime. You can find it in Superdrug for £6.99. In Romania, you can only find the matte version sold for 25 lei on emag.ro.
Because it is starting to get hot (or extremely hot here in Bucharest) I sometimes don’t feel like putting makeup on. So, I reach for a face primer instead. I use the Instablur primer from The Body Shop, which contains Vitamin E. It is sold for £15 in the UK and 85 lei in Romania.
During these hot days, I don’t apply any other makeup and I just use the Eylure Cosmetics London “Lengthening” eyelashes. I trim them for a more natural look and it makes me look like I have actually put in an effort.
This May I have started using a new eyebrow product, the BarryM Brow Kit in “Medium to Dark”, which has wax, a dark powder and a highlight powder. The wax has revolutionised my entire brow routine along with the dark powder. I was really impressed by this product. It retails for £5.99 in Superdrug or if you are from Romania, you can find it in Marionnaud for 39 lei.
One eyeshadow palette I have been reaching for is the I♥Makeup Wonder Palette in “Chocolate Vice”. I have been using the lightest shades as an all-over-the-lid colour and the pinky and peachy shades in my crease for a summery look. I found it in Superdrug for £7.99. In Romania, you can find it on moja.ro sold for 54 lei.
