Beauty products that are worth the hype | Charlotte Tilbury, Refy Beauty, Gisou & more

Glazed donut skin, rosy cheeks, plump lips, lifted eyelashes and bushy brows are just some of the makeup trends that have taken over social media recently. And I admit, as an avid beauty lover, I’ve fallen for them too.

From Charlotte Tilbury‘s Hollywood Flawless Filter to Sol de Janeiro‘s Brazilian Bum Bum Cream, I’ve got the lowdown on the trendy makeup buys everyone’s been obsessing over – thanks TikTok. But trust me, I’ve tried and tested them, and they really are worth the hype.

For that perfect glazed donut skin…

The Hollywood Flawless Filter from Charlotte Tilbury, £36, has gotten really comfy in my makeup bag. I apply it under makeup, on top of makeup, with no makeup. If I’m out of the house, except for running errands and going to the gym, you bet I’m wearing this. And this is how I know that I will continue to purchase it after I run out of this magic product.

I’ve got shade 3, in case you’ve got a similar skin tone, which suits me during warmer months. But I’ll go for the 2.5, a lighter shade, pictured below for my next one, which will be perfect for all year round. It’s light, offers that healthy glow from within and it wears like a dream throughout the day. If you love that glass skin look, then this one’s definitely for you.

For bushy brows…

I’ve heard about this next product from TikTok, of course. It was everywhere, from ads to content creators showing off just what it can do – and it just so happened that I was running out of my holy grail Brow Freeze from Anastasia Beverly Hills.

So, I decided to try something new. Refy Beauty‘s (by Jess Hunt) Brow Sculpt, £16, instantly came to mind. It has just the right consistency, a mix of gel and wax. You can either achieve the most perfect bushy brows or simply brush your eyebrows in place using the handy applicator. Plus the formula is water resistant and flake-free. It’s worth a try for sure if you’re on the hunt for new eyebrow products.

For juicy lips…

Two words: Fenty Beauty. For all things lips, I always reach for my Fenty goodies – be it the new Poutsicle Hydrating Lip Stain, £17, or the Gloss-Bomb Heat Universal Lip Luminiser + Plumper in Lemon Lava, £20.

I recently saw the Poutsicle Hydrating Lip Stain when scrolling online and I instantly became obsessed. My angel-of-a-boyfriend got it for me in shade Mai Type right before going on holiday and it’s the perfect summer lip product. It is hydrating, glossy but not sticky, and it wears off beautifully revealing a stunning stain. I sometimes apply the Lemon Lava gloss on top of the stain and it looks just oh-so-juicy.

For flushed cheeks…

I’m sure you know all about the cult-favourite Nars blush in shade Orgasm, £27.50, which comes in a liquid formula as well – it’s top on my wishlist. It’s a peachy pink shade with subtle golden shimmer. It’s buildable, so you can either go for a natural, subtle finish or super-rosy cheeks. If you’ve been meaning to try it, this is your sign.

For delicious skin…

I wish you could smell the Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream, from £17 for 75ml. It is just divine! Whenever I apply it, I am teleported somewhere on a beach with an icy Piña Colada in my hand. Now let me tell you how they describe the scent…

Top Notes: Pistachio, Almond. Heart Notes: Heliotrope, Jasmine Petals. Base Notes: Vanilla, Salted Caramel, Sandalwood.

YUM. I personally absolutely adore anything that has to do with pistachios but why is this cream so popular? Well, apart from the heavenly scent, it is made with guaraná extract, which is five times as rich in caffeine as coffee, so it tightens and firms the body, leaving the skin smoother and softer. With a mix of cupuaçu butter, acai oil, and coconut oil, this cream hydrates the skin while the fatty acids and antioxidants offer a nice glow.

For the perfect finishing touch before you’re out the door, spritz the Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 62 Perfume Mist, from £16.15 for 90ml, which is a match to the Bum Bum Cream scent.

For luscious locks…

I’ve raved and raved about Gisou’s honey-infused Hair Oil, from £19 for 20ml, for some time now, but it truly makes styling your hair as quick and simple as ever. Not to mention, it gives healthy shine, hydrates, helps detangle, and embraces curls so effortlessly.

It has become a staple in my hair care routine. I mix it with masks whenever I feel like my hair needs an extra shot of hydration, I apply it to the lengths after blow-drying, or to tame frizz.

So, that’s a wrap on the beauty products that are worth the hype, in my opinion.
